Lancaster Road is now part of Lancashire Children’s University. This enables children to work towards Children’s University accreditation by gaining credit for any learning that they undertake voluntarily outside of school hours. Most extra curricular clubs in school are ‘learning destinations’ as are the residential visits to Tower Wood and York (2 hours per day).
If the children attend an out of school activity not run by school then they can nominate this as well for validation as a learning destination. The activity has to be out of school hours, voluntary and have some structured learning taking place.

On Wednesday 1st July 2015 43 of our Year 5 and 6 children took part in our first graduation ceremony at Lancaster University. The children had all worked hard to extend their learning or help out/volunteer on social action projects in their own time. It was a cracking day repeated in 2016 when another 40+ children graduated. Will it be you this year?
