Year 5

About the Staff

Welcome to year 5! The teachers are called Mr Main and Mrs Billington. Our teaching assistants are called Mrs Price, Mrs Shetty, Mrs Wetton and Mrs Lockett. We look forward to showing you photographs and pieces of work which we have completed in our classes.  We also hope to soon be in our brand new classrooms in the new building.

 Introduction to the Year

In year 5, we have lots of exciting topics throughout the year.

In the autumn term, we learn about Fairtrade, we look at the different countries which produce and consume Fairtrade products. In addition, we design our own Fairtrade chocolate bars and adverts.

In the spring and summer terms, we learn about Ancient Greece and the Romans. We link this to our English work when we read different Greek myths and write our own versions. We will also design and make our own Greek buildings. Finally, we are taking part in a project called ‘Be The Change’ at Lancaster University and have the opportunity to go to Tower Wood in February.
